Once upon a time, there was a baby camel
lived with her mother. The baby camel was very curious about things and always
try to learn from her mother. One day in the afternoon when the mother and a
baby camel were lying around under a tree, suddenly the baby camel asked,
“mother, may I ask you some questions?
Mother said, “Sure! Why not son, is there
something bothering you?
Baby camel: “Why do
camels have humps?”
Mother camel: Dear son, In
desert areas, there is shortage of water. We have the humps to store water; so
that we can survive for many days with very little water.”
Baby camel: “Okay, why are
our legs long and our feet rounded, again asked a question to mother?”
Mother camel: The camels long
legs helps to keep their bodies further away from the hot ground and they have
large soft feet so they wont sink into the sand. They are meant in such a way,
so that we can walk properly in the desert. With these legs we can move around
the desert better than anyone does!”
The baby camel was very happy after getting
the answer from her mother. The baby camel paused. After a period, the baby
camel asked,
Baby camel: “Okay, then why
are our eyelashes long?
Mother camel: “My son, those
long thick eyelashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes
from the desert sand and wind”.
Baby camel: “I see. So the
hump is to store water in the desert, the legs are for walking through the
desert and these eye lashes protect my eyes from the sand.”
Mother camel: “Exactly my son, now you are
got everything correctly.”
Now baby camel confused and he asked, “If god
has given us so many talents to live in deserts, then what the hell are we doing
in the Zoo?”
This time mother camel went speechless.
“Skills and abilities are only useful if you
are in the right place at the right time. Otherwise they go to waste.”
